In America, birthdays are something to celebrate. You will spend tons of time getting ready for a party that will last just a little while.

The good thing about a festive first birthday is that the growth of mom and baby can be celebrated. People were excited when mom was pregnant and gave birth, then the baby grew through the year and now there is a good reason to get back together again.
